Senoia arrests man, 18, for child molestation

An 18-year-old Senoia man faces child molestation charges for actions committed in 2010 and 2011 when he was a juvenile.

The man was charged with two counts of child molestation, according to Senoia Det. Jason Ercole, adding that the man’s name is not being released because the crime was committed while he was a juvenile.

Ercole said the man was arrested on July 9 after an investigation conducted by the Senoia Police Dept. that spanned a five-month period. Read More»

A Fairburn woman was charged with reckless conduct July 9 after leaving her 5-year-old son in a car at the Publix grocery store in Tyrone. The child was found by a patron and was hot but unharmed.

Union City man arrested after stalking wife in PTC

A Union City man was arrested July 8 on numerous charges after stalking his wife and leading officers in Peachtree City and Tyrone on a chase.

Christopher Sinclair, 31, was charged with stalking, loitering, reckless driving, driving while suspended, child safety seat violations and obstruction, according to Peachtree City police spokesman Mark Brown. Read More»

Coweta deputies discover 'basement full of pot'

A raid on a home in east Coweta County by local and federal law enforcement agents revealed approximately 350 marijuana plants being grown in what Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager described as a sophisticated growing operation.

The raid last week by local and federal law enforcement occurred at 72 Meadows Drive, off Ga. Highway 16 south of Senoia.

Yeager said Coweta deputies worked with federal Drug Enforcement Agency agents in the bust.

“The basement was full of pot being grown,” Yeager said. “We worked with federal agents and seized more than 350 plants.” Read More»

Charges filed in fatal motorcycle crash

A Fayetteville woman is facing criminal charges stemming from a June 27 crash that killed a Jonesboro man.

Zahra Rupani, 34, of Jay Trail, has been charged with homicide by vehicle in the second degree and a stop sign violation, according to jail reports.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Ga. Highway 54 and Flat Creek Trail, claiming the life of Alex Strickland, 37, of Jonesboro. Read More»
