Drug squad arrests 4 for selling drugs here

Four people have been arrested for three separate incidents involving illegal drug sales to undercover sheriff’s deputies in recent weeks, officials said.

Ryne M. Fulton, 27, of Senoia was arrested Feb. 16 after he exchanged oxycodone pills with an undercover investigator from the Tactical Narcotics Team, sheriff’s officials said. The incident occurred in north Fayette County, and Fulton was also found to be in possession of Xanax pills as well, officials said. Read More»

Deputies arrest 2 for separate burglaries

Fayette County sheriff’s investigators have arrested two men for two separate burglaries on different ends of the county.

Lucas W. Baucom, 18, of Griffin was arrested Feb. 24 for entering a garage on Carrington Lane in south Fayette County with the intent of stealing some items, and also for taking property from a second residence on Carrington Lane, officials said. Baucom is charged with burglary and theft by taking for the incidents which occurred between Dec. 17-23, officials said. Read More»

Two 18-year-olds sentenced to 3 years for F’ville burglary

Despite their pleas for mercy from the court, two local teenagers were sentenced Monday to three years in prison for their role in a July 12 burglary in the Lakemont subdivision in south Fayetteville. Read More»

5 plead guilty in PTC Target robbery

Five men involved in the Aug. 30 armed robbery of the Target store in Peachtree City will serve prison time after entering guilty pleas in Fayette County Superior Court.

Two of the defendants, Kyle Alexander Cornell and Bradford Jay Gibbs Jr., also entered guilty pleas Thursday associated with the Sept. 12 robbery of the Pit Stop on Petrol Point in Peachtree City and the attempted armed robbery of the Sonic restaurant in Tyrone earlier that same day, Read More»

Sharpsburg man arrested in PTC domestic incident

A Sharpsburg man faces felony assault charges after a Feb. 24 incident involving a woman and her minor son in their Peachtree City home. No significant injuries were reported.

Samuel Edward Whitlock, 36, was charged by Peachtree City Police with aggravated assault-family violence and simple battery-family violence, according to police reports. Read More»

2 F’ville teen girls collared for tournament fighting

Two Fayetteville girls attending the Feb. 24 basketball tournament at Fayette County High School are facing charges after fighting in the gym.

Both girls are age 15, according to Fayetteville Police Maj. Kevin Gooding. Both are being charged with affray, obstruction and disruption of a public school, Gooding said.

The incident occurred at approximately 10 p.m. inside the gym on the upper level after the tournament between Fayette County High School and Lovejoy High School ended. Read More»

F'ville cops offer Citizens Police Academy

Citizens interested in the inner workings of the Fayetteville Police Department will be able to get a peek inside police work at the fifth annual Citizens Police Academy.

The weekly two-hour classes will be held on Tuesday nights starting April 3 and ending June 19. A different aspect of the department will be covered each week with instruction from certified police officers, supervisors and civilian instructors Additional activities such as ride-alongs with officers and firearms training will be included. Senoia man arrested in PTC undercover bust

A Senoia man faces drug charges after being arrested Feb. 16 in Peachtree City in an undercover buy-bust conducted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT).

Ryne M. Fulton, 27, of Teal Court, was charged with the sale of Schedule II narcotics, possession of Schedule II narcotics and possession of Schedule IV narcotics, according to Fayette Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brent Rowan.

Rowan said Fulton was arrested in an undercover operation during the evening hours of Feb. 16 near the Shell convenience store on Ga. Highway 74. Read More»
