Fayette resident shot after dispute at Fulton County club

A Fayette County man was shot in the parking lot of a north Fayette County school early Thursday morning after being involved in an altercation at a club on Old National Highway.

Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said the victim was shot in the arm at 3 a.m. Thursday by an unknown assailant who followed him into the county.

Babb said the events that led to the shooting began at a club on Old National Highway in Fulton County. A dispute began over what was believed to have been a wager related to a game of pool. Babb said the dispute was carried outside the club. Read More»

Man arrested for grabbing jogger on PTC path

A Peachtree City man was arrested April 8 on charges of sexual battery after he struck and grabbed a female jogger on her buttocks as he drove past her in a golf cart.

Sean McClenahan, 19, was placed under arrest and charged with sexual battery, according to Peachtree City Police spokesman Lt. Mark Brown. Read More»

Wild chase ends with 1 arrest, 20 charges

A Union City man is facing more than 20 charges after leading Fayette County deputies on an April 6 chase that began on Rockaway Road near Peachtree City and ended on Ga. Highway 85 in Fayetteville.

Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said the April 6 incident began at approximately 7 a.m. when a Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy observed a Senoia Police Officer attempting to stop a Chevrolet pickup truck on Rockaway Road in southern Fayette County. The deputy was able to determine that the truck was stolen and was fleeing the Senoia officer, said Babb. Read More»

Man robbed at gunpoint Monday night in F'ville

A man headed to work at the Walgreens pharmacy on Ga. Highway 85 in Fayetteville late Monday night was robbed at gunpoint by two men who took his belongings and fled on foot toward the North Jeff Davis Drive area.

Fayetteville Det. Mike Whitlow said the victim was across the street from Walgreens at approximately 11:15 p.m. when two men approached him. One of the men grabbed him and removed his belongings from his pockets while the other man held a gun on him, Whitlow said.

Senoia man arrested for residential burglary

A Senoia man was arrested April 3 in connection with a residential burglary and is a suspect in four other residential burglaries that occurred in recent months on Senoia’s northeast side.

James A. Robinson, age 38, of Bridge Street, was charged with burglary, theft by receiving stolen property and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to Senoia Police Det. Jason Ercole. Read More»

Tipster receives $5K after arsonist convicted

Sometimes it does pay to keep a watchful eye out for crime. An anonymous tipster will be receiving a pay day for providing information that led to the arrest and conviction of a Newnan man on charges of serial arson.

The anonymous tipster will receive $5,000 for providing the information that lead to the recent conviction of Willie Claude Mack, according to Newnan Public Information Officer Gina Snider. Mack was convicted on four counts of intentionally setting four fires on southeast side of downtown Newnan, Snider said. Read More»
