F’ville man charged with kidnapping in SWAT standoff

A Fayetteville man was arrested Nov. 11 after a standoff with law enforcement at his residence on Susan Lane in Fayetteville. There were no injuries in the incident.

Marcellus Shead, 31, was charged with one count of kidnapping-family violence and one count of false imprisonment, said Fayetteville Det. Mike Whitlow.

Whitlow said the officers at 12:02 a.m. on Nov. 11 responded to a 911 call from a female, who also lives at the residence, saying that she was being held against her will. The cell phone was tracked to a Susan Lane residence, Whitlow said. Read More»

Fayette firefighter charged with stealing drugs

A Fayette County firefighter was arrested Oct. 27 for stealing Schedule 2 drugs from a resident’s home. He was subsequently fired from his position with Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services.

Sidney W. White, Jr., 28, of Fayetteville, was charged Oct. 27 with misdemeanor theft by taking and felony possession of a Schedule 2 drug, according to Sheriff Barry Babb.

Babb said the arrest stemmed from an incident on Oct. 22 when a Fayette County resident reported the theft of medication from her home in the Shiloh Mobile Home Community. Read More»

Deputies searching for North Coweta armed robber

Coweta County deputies are searching for a man driving a white minivan who held up a convenience store on U.S. Highway 29 at gunpoint on Nov. 9.

Sgt. Jason Fetner said the armed robbery occurred during the evening hours at the Mini Mart on Hwy. 29 in north Coweta County.

The suspect entered the building, briefly cased the store and departed. He returned approximately 20 minutes later, Fetner said. He was wearing a gray sweater, a dark stocking caps and had a mustache and a partial beard, said Fetner.

The man produced a handgun and robbed the cashier, Fetner said. Read More»

Fayette deputies bust mobile meth lab, break up Brooks burglary

Mobile methamphetamine lab located

On Wednesday Nov. 5, at approximately 8:07 p.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 104 Shiloh Drive at the Shiloh Mobile Home Park to investigate possible drug activity.

Deputies located what they suspected to be a mobile Meth lab inside the residence. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Narcotic Team responded to assist and secure the scene.

Arrest made in PTC kidnapping

A Talmo man was arrested Nov. 4 in Peachtree City on charges of kidnapping and sodomy.

Verlon Tuck, 34, of Talmo, was charged with theft, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment and kidnapping, said Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Mark Brown.

Brown said officers at approximately 5:25 a.m. responded to a business located at 995 North Peachtree Parkway in reference to a reported sexual assault.

Brown said the victim and the offender travelled together to the incident location.

“The suspect had access to the business as a part of a cleaning contract,” Brown said.

Fayette deputies pursue, arrest three in separate violations

Deputies with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office corralled two vehicles on Nov. 1 and 2 whose drivers were trying to get away from officers in pursuit.

Sheriff Barry Babb said the first incident occurred on Nov. 1 at 9:23 p.m. when a deputy turned on the blue lights to stop a 2011 silver Chevrolet Aveo occupied by three individuals on Ga. Highway 138 near the Fayette/Clayton County line. Read More»

PTC man arrested for kidnapping, assault

A Peachtree City man was arrested Oct. 27 on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault in connection to a domestic disturbance where he kidnapped his girlfriend’s sister at gunpoint and transported her to Atlanta.

Datavius Q. Holland, 25, of 100 North Meade Drive, was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, theft, simple battery and cruelty to children, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Odilia Bergh.

Bergh said officers on Oct. 21 at approximately 8 a.m. responded to the North Meade Drive residence after a call pertaining to a domestic disturbance. Read More»

N. Fayette man threatens school bus, is arrested

A north Fayette County man was charged with disrupting public schools after making threatening statements that he would do “whatever he had to do” about a school bus making noise in front of his home during morning pick-up times.

Rolin Isaacs, 58, was charged with disrupting public schools, a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature, said Sheriff Barry Babb.  Read More»
