UPDATED — F'ville cops release sketch of armed kidnapping suspect

UPDATED with location — Fayetteville Police are looking for the man depicted in this sketch after a female jogger reported an attempted kidnapping Thursday, July 12 at approximately 12:50 p.m. in the Villages at LaFayette neighborhood next to Fayette County High School.

The male suspect is described as being in his early to mid-twenties, having Middle Eastern/ Hispanic features with curly un-kept hair and a full beard. The suspect may speak broken English. Read More»

Female resident shot in PTC home invasion

Peachtree City Police are searching for two men involved in a home invasion Friday night on Woodland Drive near Robinson Road in Peachtree City. One of the residents suffered an injury from a shotgun blast as she fled the house in an attempt to escape and summon help.

3 teens arrested for PTC BP burglary, golf cart thefts

Two juveniles from Peachtree City and a 17-year-old from Hapeville have been charged with the July 8 burglary of the BP station on Ga. Highway 54 and Stevens Entry in Peachtree City. The three were also charged with the theft of several golf carts in the past two weeks.

Jacob Tyler Harris, 17, of Hapeville, was charged with burglary, party to a crime-burglary, criminal attempt to commit burglary and four counts of theft by taking a motor vehicle-golf cart, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Rosanna Dove. Read More»

Cops: Mexican murder suspect hid in PTC

In jail since January, suspect turned over to Mexican authorities Thursday

A former Peachtree City resident wanted for murder in his homeland was turned over to Mexican law enforcement officers Thursday, according to officials with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Alfredo Montalvo-Coreno, 32, had been jailed since Jan. 16 when he was arrested by the Tyrone Police Department for driving without a license and speeding. Read More»

Woman raped, beaten in north Fayette, suspect arrested

An Atlanta man was arrested Monday for beating and raping a woman in a cul-de-sac in north Fayette County May 29, police said.

Abdulrahman Hassan Alwi, 23, of Atlanta abducted the victim from a night club on Old National Highway and brought her to a cul-de-sac on Sara Cove in the Franklin Farms subdivision where the assault took place, according to investigators from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. Read More»

Deputies nab Pavilion robbery suspects in 4 minutes

A June 30 armed robbery at the Atlanta Bread Company at the Fayette Pavilion had the two men fleeing the scene in custody within four minutes of leaving the store.
