Fairburn man arrested in ATV theft

A Fairburn man was arrested by Fayette County deputies on Aug. 21 after stealing an all-terrain vehicle featured on Craigslist that he was supposed to be test driving for a possible purchase.

Sheriff’s spokesman Brent Rowan said investigators made an arrest in connection with the July 29 theft of a Yamaha Banshee all-terrain vehicle (ATV). Investigators arrested Alexander Stinchcomb, 17, of Fairburn and charged him with theft by taking, Rowan said. Read More»

Fayetteville police and Fayette County sheriff’s deputies have been busy catching suspected burglars, netting four perps on the same day in two separate incidents.

‘Walking Dead’ actor Wilson staggers to DUI charge in PTC stop

A cast member of the AMC television series “The Walking Dead” was arrested Aug. 18 in Peachtree City on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Actor Scott Wilson was arrested after tests showed a blood alcohol level of .155, nearly double the legal limit.

Wilson, age 70, of Los Angeles, Calif., was charged with DUI alcohol and failure to maintain lane, according to incident reports obtained from Peachtree City Police.

The actor plays Hershel Greene in “The Walking Dead,” now filming its third season in nearby Senoia. Read More»

Eledria A. Collins, 28, of Vista Way, Jonesboro, for first degree forgery (3) and no driver’s license.

Miguel A. Garcia-Lebron, 31, of Foster Trail, Jonesboro, for revoked or suspended license and expired or no license plate.

2 busted in PTC for credit card fraud

Two Stone Mountain residents were arrested Aug. 20 for using fraudulent credit cards to purchase two transmissions from a business in the Peachtree City industrial park.

The suspects were stopped on Ga. Highway 74 near Georgian Park based on a vehicle description called in from Jasper Transmission, police said.

Mervin Frasier, 45, of Stone Mountain Parkway and Natasha Stockdale, 33, of Denere Drive were charged with credit card fraud, police said.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident, police said.

A Peachtree City woman was arrested Aug. 17 for arson and insurance fraud after she allegedly set fire to a vehicle two days earlier at the Concord Village Apartments, police said.

Feds raid Tyrone pain clinic

There were reports on Aug. 23 of federal agents raiding a number of pain clinics in metro Atlanta on Wednesday, including one in Tyrone.

Asked about a raid in Tyrone, Police Chief Brandon Perkins confirmed that on Wednesday a search warrant was served by federal agents at a medical office on Swanson Road and that an unnamed individual was taken into custody by federal agents. Read More»

Cops seek info from public to catch killer of Fayette woman

Cerebral palsy victim, 44, a ‘loving, dedicated church-goer, granddaughter’

A local woman made a tearful, emotional plea Friday afternoon for information about the gunman who shot and killed her granddaughter Aug. 10 after they stumbled on burglars inside their home.

Flyers with a photo of Donna Denice Roberts have been posted at area businesses with a request for anyone with such information to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Roberts’ death. Read More»
