Coweta wrecker man charged with shooting mechanic in foot

A Coweta County man has been charged with aggravated assault after shooting a man in the ankle in a dispute over a car repair.

Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb said 47-year-old David Sharp was charged with aggravated assault in the Jan. 12 incident.

The incident occurred after Sharp, a tow truck driver, met with a car mechanic at a business located on Ga. Highway 85 North. The mechanic was the individual who would be working on the vehicle, Babb added. Read More»

Deputies charge Fayette man with multiple felonies in spat with wife

A Fayette County man faces multiple charges stemming from a Jan. 9 domestic incident and the burglary of a nearby residence.

Defense attorneys say injuries don't match and father did not shake his son

Defense attorneys for a man accused of shaking his baby to death told a jury yesterday that his infant son’s injuries do not match those from any typical “shaken baby” death.

Attorneys for Jamal Rashad Thomas, 21, said Tuesday that the evidence will show a lack of several specific injuries common to “shaken baby” deaths and the location of the infant’s actual injuries does not correlate with a shaken baby diagnosis. Read More»

A Fayette County man has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault after he choked his girlfriend and struck her in the mouth, according to Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb.
