Juan Carlos Fernandez, 28, of Marceau Drive, Conley, for probation violation.
Fausto Gomez-Renteria, 42, of Hillcrest Avenue, Fayetteville, for no license and brake lights required.

Mailbox vandals strike in PTC

With reports of damaged, destroyed and stolen mailboxes accruing in Peachtree City, police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 in hopes of cracking the case.

At least one witness has told police the offenders appeared to be teenagers and were traveling on a golf cart, perhaps using either a bat or a broom handle.

Most of the incidents have happened in the evening and early morning hours, police said. Read More»

Detectives make ID fraud, burglary arrests

Teens also charged with graffiti on subdivision picnic tables

A Fayetteville man was arrested July 14 for burglarizing three homes in south Fayette County, according to detectives from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

Aaron Micah Goodline, 23, is accused of stealing property that belonged to the victims. Goodline cooperated with investigators to return the stolen property, detectives said.
Goodline is charged with three counts of burglary. The burglaries occurred between June 10 and July 14, officials said. Read More»

A Peachtree City police officer was arrested July 4 for boating under the influence at West Point Lake in LaGrange, The Citizen has confirmed.

Doctor convicted and sentenced after Coweta tip

It was an arrest that led to a conviction and then, earlier this week, a prison sentence of nearly 27 years for 50 year-old former Grady Hospital Dr. Adam Wayne Lebowitz after being found guilty of child exploitation. And it all stemmed from a tip in 2006 from a 15 year-old east Coweta County woman and her son.

Lebowitz, of Decatur, was convicted in February on charges of producing child pornography and attempting to coerce and entice a child to engage in unlawful sex acts. He was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Richard Story to 26 years and eight months in federal prison. Read More»

Peachtree City police and fire officials are investigating two recent early-morning vehicle fires that were intentionally set, officials said Tuesday afternoon.

The fires damaged vehicles that were parked in driveways of two homes: one in the Everhill subdivision and the other in the nearby Rockspray subdivision, police said. Read More»

PTC man arrested for molesting 3 girls

A Peachtree City man was arrested Wednesday for molesting three girls under the age of 16 over a period of several years, according to warrants for his arrest.

Stanley James Austin, 50, of 103 Chipstone Court is charged with one count of child molestation and two counts of child molestation, police said.. All three charges are felonies.

Each of the incidents happened at Austin’s home, according to the warrants. One of the incidents is alleged to have occurred sometime between Jan. 1, 1999 and Dec. 31, 2006. Another happened when between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 2001. Read More»
