Senoia considers annexation for mixed use development

The Senoia City Council on June 6 conducted a public hearing and heard the first reading of an annexation request by Lindsey Homes to annex 88 acres along Ga. Highway 16 West for the Village West residential and commercial development. The second reading is expected June 20.

The proposal had previously been accepted for the idea of annexation by the City Council, has been through the city’s Planning Commission process and was not opposed by Coweta County. Read More»

Clayton State MBA program adds concentrations in International Business and Accounting

Open houses scheduled for Morrow, Peachtree City

The AACSB-accredited School of Business at Clayton State University has announced the addition of two new concentrations to its MBA program.
The concentration in International Business will allow students to take courses in Global Marketing or Cross-Cultural Negotiating, and to participate in a Study Abroad class. The School of Business will be holding six open houses, three in Morrow and three in Peachtree City, in June and July, to provide information on the MBA program. Read More»

Chick-fil-A gets okay to add second drive-thru lane

Revised development plans for the Chick-fil-A on North Glynn Street in Fayetteville were unanimously approved May 24 by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission. For restaurant customers the approval means a quicker trip through the drive-thru window by adding a second lane.

The proposal called for reconfiguring a number of parking spaces adjacent to the existing drive-thru lane on the building’s south side, thereby making room for a second drive-thru lane and changing the current perpendicular parking spaces to ones that are diagonal. Read More»

191-unit senior complex gets F’ville P&Z green light

A proposal to establish a residential living facility for independent seniors at the Villages at Lafayette development on Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville was recommended for approval May 24 by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission on a 3-1 vote.

With the land currently zoned for office use, the recommendation will go before the City Council on June 9 for a zoning change. Read More»

Distribution center opens near I-85 in Fairburn; truck traffic to increase

The Electrolux Corp. on May 13 opened a 600,000 square-foot distribution center near I-85 on Ga. Highway 92 in Fairburn. That’s just under 14 acres under roof. The opening follows the opening of another distribution center in Fairburn by the Clorox Corp. earlier this year and one by the Smucker’s company two years ago, both off Oakley Industrial Boulevard near Ga.
