Chase Bank to raze, replace Kedron KFC

The former Kentucky Fried Chicken building in the Kedron Village shopping center may soon cluck its way into oblivion.

Chase Bank has submitted a proposal to demolish the empty former KFC at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Georgian Park in favor of a 3,421 square-foot bank with 30 parking spaces.

Newnan lands rehab hospital

Newnan and Coweta County will soon be home to yet another healthcare provider. HealthSouth Corp. announced last week that it will construct a 50-bed comprehensive physical rehabilitation hospital on Newnan Crossing Boulevard East near Interstate 85. Developer wants sewer access; approval recommended with buffer, enhancements

A proposal to annex four parcels on 7.36 acres along Ga. Highway 54 East into Peachtree City will be considered by the City Council Thursday night.

The owner of the Peachtree Professional Center has asked for the annexation to allow hookup to the city’s sewer system. The hookup is not necessary but would be nice to have and it would allow for more of the site to be used for parking, according to Chuck Ogletree, a representative of owner Foot Pain, LLC. F’ville eyes 300 upscale apartments on Grady Ave.

An upscale residential development is being proposed for 38 acres on Grady Avenue in Fayetteville that is expected to line up with the arrival of the Pinewood Atlanta development on the city’s north side.

Proposed residential units include 33 one- and two-story cottages, 67 townhouse units contained in three-story buildings and 300 apartments, also located in three-story buildings, according to plans submitted to the city. New PTC plant to employ 42 to make livestock feed additive

Calpis America, Inc., broke ground on its new $20 million manufacturing and headquarters facility in the Peachtree City industrial park Friday.

The Japanese firm will employ about 50 people at the plant, which will produce a livestock feed additive designed to promote digestive health. Some 42 of the jobs will be created in the first year of operations on the 12-acre site.

The plant is expected to be operational by April 2014.
