Eat pasta for kids charities

People of all ages enjoy all-you-can-eat spaghetti at last year's Kiwanis dinner. This year's will be March 19 at Booth Middle School from 4:30-8:00 p.m. Tickets are $7 each. Under age 5 are free. All funds go to children's charities.

Pasta is not the first thing that comes to mind in giving back to the community. Friday, Mar. 19, pasta will be on the charity agenda and menu. Spotlight shows at 'The Fred' announced

Music fans are in for a treat with four more concerts to choose from the summer schedule at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater.

Benefit dinner at Candler Field, Mar. 20

The Candler Field Museum, located just south of Atlanta in Williamson, Ga., will host its second annual benefit dinner on Mar. 20.  The program will feature Major General Pat Halloran, USAF (retired) who will relate his flying experiences in both the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird and the Lockheed U-2 spy planes. Major Halloran was one of the first pilots to fly the U-2 and the SR-71.  He logged more than 600 hours in the SR-71 and over 1,600 hours in the U-2.  His distinguished career also includes 100 combat missions flying in F-84s during the Korean War. Sara Harp Minter Elementary School held their 3rd Annual Blaze’s Masquerade Ball pageant on Saturday, Feb. 6. The pageant included 51 contestants ages 3-18 years old.  The contestants were judged on poise, confidence, beauty, overall appearance and first impression.  The pageant raised $3,000 for the school. The Villages gets web-based ticketing system for 2010

This year, the Villages Amphitheater enters the modern age with a new, web-based ticketing system to assist with and enhance box office sales.

Officially launched on February 24, the new system allows users to view and purchase any available seats for the 2010 Summer Concert Series directly from the villagesamphitheater.com website. Beginning March 10, users will also be able to view and purchase seats to any individual show in the series. Read More»
