More than 200 guests toured six gardens April 30 as part of the Fayette Master Gardener Association’s Spring Garden Tour and Plant Sale. Marilyn Frazar (L-R), Jo Ellen Carter, Janyce Johnson, Sue Memmer and David and Rhonda Eich tour the garden of Dan and Bonnie Helander. The Eich’s garden was also on the tour. The combined fund-raisers raised funds to support local horticulture programs including the Plant a Row for the Hungry Garden that donates fresh produce to local non-profits. Rose Society hosts pruning clinic

The South Metro Rose Society (SMRS) recently held its annual rose pruning clinic at the Heritage Bank rose garden in Fayetteville. Each year the rose pruning clinic is open to the community and ARS Consulting Rosarians and other society members give hands-on pruning instruction and advice on other rose growing questions at no charge. 

SMRS is a local affiliate of the American Rose Society, headquartered at The American Rose Center and Gardens in Shreveport, LA. SMRS meets the 4th Monday of most months at Heritage Bank, 440 N. Jeff Davis Dr. in Fayetteville. Read More»

Leading 2010 Coldwell Banker Bullard Peachtree City office agents recognized by company and realtor board

Donna Lasseter was recognized recently as the 2010 Top Producing Agent for Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty’s Peachtree City/Fayette County office. Dianne Maney was the office’s No. 2 producer for the year, while Jim Qualls was No. 3.

The recognition came at the Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty organization’s annual awards event. Lasseter was also announced as the No. 4 producer companywide for 2010.

Several agents from Bullard’s Peachtree City/Fayette office also received recognition at the Fayette County Board of Realtors’ Annual Awards Luncheon for their performances in 2010.  Read More»

Southern Crescent Chorale at The Villages May 14

The Southern Crescent Chorale makes its eighth appearance at the Villages Amphitheater with “toe tapping music” at their concert “Dancin’!” on Saturday, May 14 at 8 p.m.

The 70 voice choir will fill the evening air with dance music of all types from country and R & B to dance standards and movie favorites. Some of the songs you’ll hear are “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “Dancing Queen,” “YMCA,” “Charleston,” and “Some Days You Gotta Dance.” There will be something for everyone at this rockin’ concert.
