The graduates of the Junior Master Gardener class

The 2010-2011 Junior Master Gardener class graduated on March 29. The twelve week after school course for students in grades three to five covered a variety of subjects including: soil composition; properties of a food chain; composting; differences between annual, biennial and perennial plants; characteristics of trees and shrubs; water conservation; beneficial and harmful insects, and the importance of landscape design.  The class was sponsored by the Fayette County Extension Office and taught by Master Gardener volunteers.  For more information call Andrea McCourtney 770-841-9771. Twilight presents 'Midsummer Night's Dream'

Twilight Theatre is in full swing of the 2011 season with the production of one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

The show is directed by University of West Georgia graduate, Amanda Lindsey. “I am so blessed to work with this cast. They truly are amazing,” said Lindsey. Benefit ride for Trey Bradbury coming April 16

A benefit ride for Trey Bradbury will be held April 16 at Strack, Inc. in Fairburn. A former Fayetteville resident, Bradbury was injured last year in an on-the-job fall in which his back was broken. Trey is now paralyzed from the waist down and is wheelchair-bound. The benefit ride will help offset medical and rehabilitation expenses. Read More»

Bryan Adams to play 'The Fred' in August

The Frederick Brown Jr. Amphotheater will play host to one of the world’s most highly acclaimed musicians on Friday, Aug. 5. Bryan Adams The Bare Bones Tour is the sixth concert in the BMW of South Atlanta summer concert series, with the other five announced in early February.
