Entertainment at this Friday's Relay for Life

There will be something for everyone on the main stage at Relay For Life. In between the emotional, moving ceremonies, which are the backbone of Relay, there will be a wide variety of entertainment to help keep the walkers, team members and visiting public entertained all night long. Ceremony to honor cancer survivors and remember those lost

A special luminaria ceremony to be held during the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Fayette County will remember those lost to cancer and honor those who have survived. Luminaria will be lit at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds on Friday at 9 p.m. to represent these individuals.

Cancer survivors laugh the night away

The old saying, laughter is the best medicine, was never more true than Friday night at the annual Relay For Life of Fayette County Survivor Dinner. The 400 cancer survivors and their caregivers who attended the dinner at New Hope Baptist church were treated to a wonderful meal provided by event sponsors, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, and then enjoyed a very entertaining program by guest speaker Ellen Hester.

'Touch a Truck' returns this Saturday

Peachtree City will host Touch A Truck on Saturday, May 1 in the Recreation Administration parking lot located at 191 McIntosh Trail from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This is the annual event where kids will be able to climb on big rigs, operate forklifts, turn on police sirens and learn about the equipment.

Fayette Master Gardeners hold plant sale Saturday

The Fayette Master Gardener Association will host its 2nd Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 1. The event will be held from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Fayette County Administration Complex parking lot, 140 Stonewall Ave. in Fayetteville . Hundreds of plants including annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetable seedlings, shrubs, trees and house plants will be available for sale at bargain prices.
