Change your clock, change your battery

Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens is urging Georgians to change the batteries in their smoke alarms at the same time they change their clocks back to standard time this Sunday.

In conjunction with the “Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery” fire safety program sponsored by the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the American Burn Association, Commissioner Hudgens says the annual change from daylight saving time to standard time is a good reminder to make sure your smoke alarm is working as it should. 'Always...Patsy Cline' comes to Newnan this weekend

The Wadsworth Auditorium in historic downtown Newnan will be really “swinging” as it hosts an independent production of “Always…..Patsy Cline” Nov. 1-4. This presentation, produced by The 4 Friends Project, showcases the Ted Swindley show about Patsy Cline and her relationship with one devoted fan. Halloween preview in Fayetteville

Hundreds of costumed children stopped by the very busy Stonewall complex in downtown Fayetteville last Saturday. In addition to Market Day, the annual Trick or Treat on Main Street event was also taking place, featuring rides, games, informational booths and more. While kids enjoyed trick or treating from table to table, they also took part in the costume contest. And that’s exactly what Fayetteville zombie wedding couple Kris Gilmore and Emily Holland did Oct. 13 at the Zombie Wedding Bash in Haralson, sponsored by The Funky Shack Art Studio and owners Dawn Hunt and Jennifer Yarbrough. The first-time event was held in celebration of the third season of “The Walking Dead” being filmed in Haralson and nearby Senoia.
