Courthouse 5K is Saturday

For over 21 years, runners from all over the Atlanta metro area and beyond have come to Fayetteville to spend their Saturday mornings enjoying the fun, the exercise, the fellowship and the opportunity to help those that can’t help themselves by participating in the annual Old Courthouse 5K.

The Fayette County Civitan Club is putting on their 22nd Annual Old Courthouse 5K June 14.

The run will begin at 8 a.m., at the Fayette County Senior Services Center located at the Fayette County Justice Center, 4 Center Drive in Fayetteville. Read More»

In 1988, Bill Murray starred in a romantic comedy called “Groundhog Day,” a film where he was forced to repeat the same day repeatedly until his conflict was resolved. I do not remember how “Groundhog Day” ended because I was not a fan of it. I felt extremely annoyed seeing the same thing over again with minor modifications. Touch a Truck is Saturday in Newnan

The 3rd Annual Touch A Truck event will be roaring back to Ashley Park Mall today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The event, organized by Odyssey School PTO and held in the parking lot behind Olive Garden, is a chance for kids and adults to enjoy vehicles, trucks and equipment from companies like Caterpillar, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Peterbilt, FedEx, and Southside Wreckers.

The Peachtree City Running Club has announced the schedule for its 2014 summer track series, which is open to runners of all ages and abilities.

Meets will take place Wednesday evenings from June 4 to July 2 at Riley Field adjacent to Peachtree City Elementary School. Registration begins at 6 p.m. with the first event at 6:30 p.m.
