The Princess Tea Party show scheduled to perform

The Twilight Theatre will host the third annual “A Princess Tea Party” at the historic train depot in Fayetteville, Ga. Performances are Friday, March 8, at 6 p.m.; Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10 for children, seniors, and military; $12 for adults. Reservations are strongly suggested for each of the shows. 'Flies at the Well' scheduled to play at Coweta courthouse

On Feb. 9 at their annual Gala, the Newnan Theatre Company formally accepted the script for “Flies at the Well,” to be performed in Newnan’s historic courthouse. In June of 2010, Caroline Abbey, then chair of the Newnan Theatre Company Board of Directors, spearheaded a project that for years had been only a dream: re-enacting the 1948 John Wallace murder trial in the Coweta County courthouse where the original trial took place. The Southern Crescent Chorale is pleased to be making its eighth appearance at Spivey Hall on February 24 at 3 p.m. with a concert featuring the glorious work “Magnificat” by John Rutter. On Saturday, Feb. 2, Whitewater High School held its annual scholarship pageant produced by the choral department. Kylie Hastings, a senior, was chosen the overall winner and will receive a scholarship. Miss Hastings also won the award for Most Photogenic as well as the award for Evening Gown.

The first runner-up was Victoria Murry who also received the award for the best interview. Madison Mueller was the second runner up. Both the first and second runner up will receive a scholarship. Read More»

Great catch for McIntosh grad

McIntosh graduate Dawson Lenz is continuing to excel in bass fishing in college. He and teammate Ethan Horne did well enough in the Basmaster College Series Southern Regional to qualify for the national championship tournament this summer. Their haul was 23 pounds and 10 ounces over the two day tournament and their one day haul of 13 pounds and two ounces was enough to beat the University of Florida’s team in a tiebreaker.
