Inman Antique Truck Show returns to Minter’s Farm Saturday

People young and old seem to have a fascination with old trucks.

For some it’s the workhorses, the trucks that hauled freight or produce to market or fuel to the local filling station.

Others have special places in their hearts for a plain old pick-up.

Alan Jackson, the singer/song writer from Newnan captured that sentiment in his song “Drive” where he sings of learning to drive in an old half-ton short-bed Ford that his uncle bought new in ‘64.

After McIntosh’s Amanda Bartholomew connected for the winning penalty kick against Whitewater in the AAAA state soccer championship, her teammates ran towards her to celebrate their second consecutive state title and eighth overall. McIntosh won 2-1 (5-4 PK).

27th annual Rose Show in Fayetteville this weekend

The South Metro Rose Society will be holding its 27th annual Rose Show on May 19-20 at Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 870 Redwine Rd. in Fayetteville. 

Local rose growers are invited to enter their roses for competition. Members of the society will advise newcomers on entering their roses by calling the number below. Entries must be made at the show site between 7-10 a.m. on May 19th for judging.

The show is free to the public from 1-4 p.m. on both days to view, smell, and photograph the hundreds of exhibited roses and rose arrangements. Read More»
