Auditions are set for ‘The NeverEnding Story’

A Company of Friends Theatrical Productions will hold open auditions for the Fantastical Adventure Production of “The NeverEnding Story” on April 16. All ages from 8 years through mature adults will be cast in this high action and special effects filled show. Everyone will have a wonderful time portraying the fantasy characters that come to life right in from of the audience’s eyes. As a college recruiter, Quinn Cooper saw the country. Traveling the country, along with a military intelligence background, has now catapulted Cooper into the growing class of published Fayette authors.

Cooper will launch his thriller “Who’s Watching the Watcher?: A Ted Teagan Thiller” at the New Writers Night at the Barnes & Noble in the Ashley Park shopping center in Newnan April 25.

Alfred Uhry’s “Driving Miss Daisy” opens April 11 at 8 p.m. in NTC’s Black Box theatre. This heart-warming story is directed by Tony Daniel and stars Susan Patterson, Gerald Kemp, and Lamar Payne. In late February, Lisa Kelly, former soprano with Celtic Woman, began teaching her first classes at a new performing arts academy in Peachtree City.

The Lisa Kelly Voice Academy is located on Peachtree Parkway in the Peachtree Crossing Shopping Center next door to Fresh Market. Recently I spoke with her about her family’s move to Peachtree City and the opening of this new venture.

The Southern Crescent Chorale under the direction of Janice Folsom is proud to present the ninth annual Benefit Concert on Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at the Flat Creek Baptist Church.

“Prepare Ye the Way” for Godspell Jr. at The Legacy Theatre! Composer Stephen Schwartz’s (Wicked, Pippin) first and most beloved musical is being presented on the Legacy Stage through this weekend with the four different casts bringing to life the Gospel of St. Matthew.

This is the fourth “Jr.” production that the Legacy has produced, having previously brought “Honk,” “Dear Edwina,” and “Thoroughly Modern Mille” to the stage, and the casts are comprised entirely of students in the theater’s Legacy Studios classes. Read More»

Eric Smith doesn’t know what he is going to do each year.

He could be dangling 2,000 feet above the arctic circle trying to stay warm, or at the Playboy Mansion with Hugh Hefner and his bunnies, or more recently strap on a bulletproof vest and tag along behind Boston police officers.
