More than 100 voters last week got to hear it “straight from the horses’ mouths” at a candidate question and answer session hosted by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce at Peachtree City United Methodist Church.

On the political hot seats for the Post 2 seat on the Fayette County Board of Education were incumbent homemaker and newly-proclaimed Democrat Terri Smith and her challenger, college professor and Republican Mary Kay Bacallao.

Saturday voting this weekend from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., early voting all next week

Another member of the Peachtree City Council has stuck her neck out in favor of extending the proposed educational sales tax (ESPLOST) for another five years for the Fayette County School System.

At the end of Thursday’s council meeting, Kim Learnard said she would vote for the ESPLOST, in large part because the provision to pay down school system debt has lowered property taxes across the board over the past several years. Read More»

Sat. voting comes to Fayette on Oct. 27

Saturday voting is coming to Fayette County Oct. 27 in Peachtree City, Tyrone and Fayetteville.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27, voters will be able to cast ballots at the Peachtree City library, the Tyrone Town Hall and the county elections office in Fayetteville.

If you can’t wait until then, you can go ahead and cast your vote this coming Monday through Friday at those same locations between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

All early voting will cease at the close of Friday, Nov. 2 in advance of all 36 voting precincts opening on Tuesday, Nov. 6 for election day. Read More»

Early voting underway in Coweta

The 2012 General Election is just around the corner, and early voting for the Nov. 6 election is underway. Early voting includes the ability to cast your vote today (Saturday) and again next Saturday, Oct. 27.

Early voting in Coweta County is held at only one location, the elections office located at 22 East Broad Street in Newnan. The office is open Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Early voting will also be available at the same location for Saturday voting on Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. until noon and on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Read More»
