Fayette is among 27 systems in Georgia with 100 percent of its schools meeting Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements in 2010. Of these systems, most have less than 10 schools compared to Fayette’s 28, according to school system spokesperson Melinda Berry-Dreisbach.

All of Fayette’s schools have made AYP each of the seven years since the assessment was implemented, Berry-Dreisbach said, adding that AYP is one of the cornerstones of the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Coweta CRCT scores exceed state average

Scores for the 2010 Criterion Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) for individual school systems were released last week. A breakdown of the results showing the percentage of students passing the tests indicated that Coweta County students beat the state average by a range of up to10 points in every test category and in every grade level, except for the score in eighth grade Social Studies where Coweta students were a half percentage point under the state average.
