Hopewell needs help for meal-packing event Sat.

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites the community to help package over 10,000 meals that will be shipped to those in need around the world. This annual meal packing event will be held on Saturday, March 29, at 10 a.m, at the church.

The event is supported by “Stop Hunger Now,” an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid to those in need. More than 75 countries are currently being served. The goal of “Stop Hunger Now” is to end hunger in the current generation’s lifetime. Read More»

Dickinson to be ordained deacon at Christ the King

Paul Dickinson of Sharpsburg will be ordained to the office and ministry of deacon in the Charismatic Episcopal Church on Sunday, April 27, at  6 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King. He received his bachelor of science in physics from San Diego State University and his master of ministry from St. Michael’s Seminary. Public invited to Providence UMC’s Marketplace

Providence United Methodist Church invites the community to The Marketplace this weekend. The Marketplace will be open Thursday and Friday, March 27 and 28, from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from 4-9 p.m. Children’s Minister Cathy Fralish explains, “When you come to the Marketplace you will travel back in time to a Jerusalem-like village in biblical days where kids can do crafts, and participate in activities like real camel rides, a climbing wall, stomping grapes and a petting zoo. COS Lutheran plans special service at new Tyrone property March 30

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer a special service and activities at its property at 411 Palmetto Road, Tyrone, on Sunday, March 30. Worship begins at 12:30 p.m., but participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch to eat before worship begins.

GraceFlock Band will lead in worship, along with Shepherd’s Flock Singers. After worship, children may enjoy egg hunts by age group, crafts, and games. Read More»

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Joe L. Brown; their children – Mike & Phyllis Brown, Cheryl & Jim Burchfield, Ted & Penny Brown, and Terri & Alex Cohilas.
