David Neil Saylor, 36, of Peachtree City, lost his battle with cancer on April 16, 2013.

He graduated from McIntosh High School in 1994. He attended Wingate University, where he played on the men's varsity soccer team and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, graduating in 1999. He worked as a crisis counselor in the residential behavioral health program at KidsPeace. He was also a valued player on the Majestic Soccer Team in Atlanta. Read More»

Rick was born in 1947 to Rudolph and Edith Kendall Gauthier in Louisville, Ky., and attended Clarksville, Indiana public schools after the family relocated. Living Proof to celebrate 10th anniversary

Members of Living Proof Church, 414 Jenkins Rd., Tyrone, have planned their 10th anniversary celebration for Sunday, May 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the standard Sunday praise and worship services and children and youth programs.

The 10:45 a.m. worship service will include performances by musicians who previously attended Living Proof, speakers who were instrumental in founding and developing the church, a vision for the church’s coming years of praise and service ministry, and a few surprises.

Young LDS missionaries head for Brazil

Three former McIntosh students: Conner Leavitt, Madison Houston and Alex Jenkinson, will soon join the missionary force for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Brazil.
Conner will serve in Sao Paulo, Alex in Belo Horizonte and Madison in Curitiba.

A reduction in age requirements for Mormon missionary service will now allow young women to begin service at age 19 (formerly 21) and young men to serve at 18. Applications for missionary service have increased dramatically from 700 weekly applications to about 4,000. Read More»

Pornography awareness workshop offered

A special workshop, “The Hidden Dangers of Pornography, Its Infiltration into Family, Church, and Society,” will be offered on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg.

Dr. Judy Massey, who directs the ministry development department for the Diocese of the Mid-South (Charismatic Episcopal Church), has announced that the workshop will be led by David and Carol Winkles of Trinity Fellowship Assemblies of God Church, Sharpsburg, and by The Rev.
