America's got talent....and so does our Fayette County youth! Come see for yourself. On Monday, March 22 the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City presents the final competition for its 25th Annual Art and Music Showcase.

Providence United Methodist Church is cancelling The Marketplace this evening only, March 17, due to bad weather. The Marketplace will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 18-20, 6-9 p.m. as previously planned.

Milledgeville is more than CSH, partying coeds

Thanks to Ben Roethlisberger’s alleged sexual assault on a Georgia College and State University coed two Thursday nights ago, Milledgeville has been in the national news. The Pittsburg Steelers quarterback has a home in Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee, about 45 minutes north.

Ben must have been bored at Reynolds, so he and friends drove to this small college town to bar-hop on a cool March night. Read More»

Providence’s ‘Marketplace’ biblical village starts tonight

UPDATE: Due to bad weather, The Marketplace is cancelled for Wednesday, March 17, only. The event will continue as planned March 18-20.

The community is invited to Providence United Methodist Church for the “Marketplace” from 6-9 p.m. starting tonight, March 17, and running through Saturday, March 20. This free, interactive experience is a walk through Jerusalem with sights and sounds of a biblical-era village including live animals, Roman Soldiers, and children dancing at the firepit. Read More»

Lenten lunches continue at First Methodist

Lenten lunches will continue at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent (March 18 and 25) and will end with a lunch on April 1. All lunches will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The March 18 lunch will be hosted by the Mary Martha and Marie Lamb circles. The Rev. Kristen Heiden will be the speaker.

FFUMC is at 175 E. Lanier Ave. (Ga. Highway 54) in downtown Fayetteville.

Heritage opens registration for Winshape Camp

Registration is now open for Winshape C3 Camp, which will be hosted by Heritage Christian Church, July 12-16. The day camp is open to all students who have completed first through sixth grade. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Cost is $179 for a full week of camp. A deposit of $50 is due upon registration.

C3 combines sports and recreation, arts, Bible study and worship for a truly unforgettable week of life change. Read More»

‘Prisoner of Passion’ set for March 21

The power of the Resurrection will take on a new light as London native David Payne portrays the apostle Paul in a “Prisoner of Passion” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Peachtree City First Presbyterian Church .

As told in New testament Scripture, Paul (David Payne) is under house arrest in Rome and faces almost certain death. Paul interacts with a servant girl and tells her about God’s love.

Paul cites many letters he wrote to the early churches.
