Mr. William Edward Landrum, of Tyrone

Mr. William Edward Landrum of Tyrone, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010.

In the early 1960’s Mr. Landrum was drafted into the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of Sergeant in the First Armored Division. He retired as President of C.A. Rafter Company Inc. in East Point after 43 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Landrum; son, Chuck Landrum and his wife LaVann of Newnan; sister, Linda Geer and her husband Terry of Eatonton; grandchildren, Andrew Landrum, Ansley Landrum, Jack Weaver and Sam Weaver. Read More»

Edgefield Baptist Church will be hosting a yard sale and fish fry on Saturday, March 27, from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM at the George Porter Fellowship Hall located at 140 Church Street in Fayetteville. Nancy Joan Spohn Dodd, 71, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in her Peachtree City, Ga, home after a brave battle with cancer. It was her 38th wedding anniversary.

Lenten lunches continue at Fayetteville First Methodist

Lenten lunches will continue at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent and will end with a lunch on April 1. All lunches will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The March 25 lunch will be hosted by the Promise and Joy circles. Chris Mucha will be the speaker.

An Adoption Discovery group will meet Wednesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.

‘Journey to the tomb’ Easter experience set at PTCUMC

On Saturday, March 27, Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites all families in the community to take a “Journey to the Tomb,” an event depicting the final days in the life of Jesus. There is no charge for the event.

The journey includes six interactive outdoor stations that bring to life the actions of Jesus on Palm Sunday, in the Garden of Gethsemane, during the Last Supper, his crucifixion and culminating with his resurrection. Read More»
