Fayette Family Church to host rally

A Better Way Ministries of Peachtree City will conduct a Rally at the Fayette Family Church Sunday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m.

Better Way is a place of refuge for men ages 17 - 55 with drug and alcohol addictions and other life controlling issues.

The evening will include a message from ministry founder John Barrow.

Eddie Thomas will celebrate 13 years at Edgefield

The congregation of Edgefield Baptist Church will celebrate the 13th Year Pastoral Anniversary of Senior Pastor Eddie Thomas on Sunday, July 18.

The theme for the occasion is Moving by Faith.

The 10 a.m. guest speaker will be Bishop Linda Brown from Ephod Church in Montgomery, Ala.

The Summit offers Camp Re-Mix for special kids

The Factor Grandparent Raising Grandchildren (GRG) committee at The Summit Church has brought key stakeholders together to provide a grief camp for children being raised in grandparent/relative care homes.

Camp Re-Mix, offered July 16-18, is a three-day, two-night weekend camp for children 7-14 years of age who are living in relative care placement. The Camp experience will include regular camp activities, swimming, hiking, and campfires. Therapeutic activities include, art, skits, and small group discussion. Read More»

David and Joy Lamb of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ansleigh Elizabeth Lamb, to Bradley Christopher Baxter, son of Bob and Linda Baxter of Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the Rev. Bill and Joan Priester of Fayetteville and Richard and Bobbie Lamb of Panama City Beach, Fla. She is a 2005 graduate of Sandy Creek High School and a 2009 graduate of Georgia College & State University with a degree in early childhood education. Mary Evelyn Carroll-Washeleski, 88, of Fayetteville, passed away July 4, 2010.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Frank Washeleski; grandchildren Derek, Danny, Richard, Mike, Lisa, and Pat; daughter in law Becky Carroll; 14 great-grandchildren, and nieces & nephews.

Mr. Floyd Leeman “Frankie Lee” Swords, 68, of Fayetteville, lost his battle with cancer on July 2, 2010.

He was born to Floyd and Rose Lee Swords on November 10, 1941 in Greenville, SC. He was an Air Force veteran who proudly served his country for eight years, which led to his 26-year employment with Delta Airlines as a Line Maintenance Aircraft Mechanic. She was preceded in death by her husband Todd and her son Shane.
