Alexandra “Allie” Haskell engaged to Nicholas B. Hansen

Dr. Joyce Haskell and Alexander C. Haskell III of North Augusta, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra “Allie” Haskell, to Nicholas B. Hansen, son of Jeffery and Katherine Hansen of Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander C. Haskell Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew T. Fehl. Local Toastmasters earn awards

Two Fayetteville residents were presented awards at the May 7 Georgia Toastmasters Conference in Savannah.  J.D. Dirkschneider received the Triple Crown trophy for earning three educational awards since July 1.  Terrance Lawrence was named Georgia Area Governor of the Year. Dirkschneider is President of High Noon Toastmasters and Lawrence is Immediate Past President.  The club meets at Noon on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the LaFayette Education Center.  Toastmasters International is tdevoted to improving speaking and leadership skills. Local paramedic excels at Fort Benning

On April 30, 2010, Specialist Edward Sherwood graduated from One Station Unit Training as the “Soldier of the Cycle” of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry of the 198th Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, Georgia.

The graduation ceremony was held at the new parade field adjacent to the recently opened National Infantry Museum which includes soil from US Army battlefields from all over the world. Read More»

The Peachtree City Chapter of New Neighbors League Club (NNLC) recently installed the officers of their summer/fall board.  From left are Shirley Jensen, President; Sheila Ostrofsky, First Vice President; Susan Johnson, Second Vice President; Carlyn Nankervis, Secretary; Kathy Burnett, Treasurer.  NNLC’s purpose is to help residence new to the area to meet and make friends by offering a wide range of activities. Mrs. Linda Cranford Harrison, 71, of Brooks and formerly of Jonesboro, died May 15, 2010.

She was born and raised on a farm in Arab, AL to the late Gurtice and Arah Cranford. She moved to Jonesboro, GA after her marriage to John M. Harrison. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and caring for others. Her greatest joy came from her three grandchildren and her extended family. Read More»

Jeffrey Monroe Kimbro passed away on May 3, 2010 at the age of 24.

He was born February 24, 1986 in Fontana, CA to Tony and Pam Kimbro.

Jeff attended Peachtree City schools and graduated from Starr's Mill High School in 2004. Growing up, he attended Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church and was active in the youth group.
