Tripp will lead seminar at Heritage Church Fri., Sat.

Heritage Church in Fayetteville (150 Lester Rd.) is having a free parenting seminar Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29. The speaker will be Dr. Tedd Tripp, one of the leading experts and authors on the topic of parenting. Tripp’s book, Shepherding a Childs’ Heart, has become a classic on the subject and has been made into a DVD series for Christian parents.

FFUMC to offer Financial Peace University beginning Sunday

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer multiple courses in Financial Peace University, a 13-week course, in the winter through spring 2011.Classes will start Jan. 30.

Holy Trinity Catholic Church plans retreat/mission Feb. 7-9

Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City will host a parish retreat/mission Feb. 7-9 at 6:30 p.m. each evening.

Leading the event will be Fr. James Friedel, an Augustinian from the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Friedel will also conduct a mini-series especially for seniors at 9 a.m. which will be open to others who prefer to attend a morning session.

“We encourage you to come and prepare for the upcoming Lenten season,” a spokesperson said.

Shroud of Turin presentation coming to Fayette’s Summit

Shroud Encounter, a highly acclaimed 90-minute multi-media presentation, is coming to The Summit Church on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Mrs. Frances Hunt Landgrebe, 93, of Fayetteville/East Point, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 19, 2011, after spending many months at Southwest Christian Care Hospice.

Mrs. Landgrebe is preceded in death by her husband Hilbert Henry Landgrebe.
