Mr. Terry Ray Bruce, 53, of Peachtree City died July 30, 2010.

He is survived by his daughter Jessie Boozer and her husband Mike; grandchildren Desiree, Michael and Trevor, all of Hampton; mother Nell Anders of Peachtree City.

Members of the Troop 1829 Ligar Patrol met Chief Scout Executive Robert Mazzuca during the opening ceremony for the 2010 National Boy Scout Jamboree. Troop 1829 is made up of Boy Scouts from Flint River Council units located in Cowetta and Fayette County. The Jamboree runs from July 27 to Aug. 4 at Fort A.P. Hill Virgina.

What I love about the Peachtree Road Race

It’s been exactly one month since 960 other Fayette residents and I ran the 41st annual Peachtree Road Race, a major part of celebrating the Fourth of July in Atlanta. Since the race fell on Sunday, the challenge was not only running the race, but also timing everything to get back to church by the 10:55 morning worship start. I made it by 10:15.

Running is good stress relief, and I find it a good outlet for a pastor. I’m getting exercise, staying fit, burning calories and praying all at once. In addition, I enter a 5K or 10K every now and then for the thrill of competition. Read More»

Mount Olive Baptist Church will hold its revival Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 4-6, at 7 p.m. each night.
