Pies-On Pizza Patriotism

The staff of Pies-On Pizza in Fayetteville recently was honored with a Flag Certificate of Appreciation by the James Waldrop Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The certificate was for the patriotic presentation and correctly displaying the American Flag, thus reminding all citizens that the American Flag is a flag of freedom. Haunted house and kiddie carnival in PTC this weekend

The Peachtree City Fire Department is having their annual haunted house on Oct. 29 and 30 from 7-11 p..m. Admission for adults is $10 and for students it is $8. In addition to the haunted house, the PTC Optimist Club is having a kiddie carnival for ages 10 and under for $4. There will be games and fun for all. The concession Stand will be open with food and drinks.  The location of the haunted house and the kiddie carnival is The Leach Fire Station at 110 Paschall Road.

Mrs. Sallie Belle Bishop, 87, formerly of Starr's Mill

Mrs. Sallie Belle Bishop, 87, of Riverdale, formerly of Starr's Mill, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010.

Mrs. Bishop is survived by her husband James Edwin Bishop as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Jeff Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Winston Erle “Wink” Moore, 67, of Fayetteville

Mr. Winston Erle “Wink” Moore , 67, of Fayetteville, passed away on October 21, 2010.

Mr. Moore was an aviation enthusiast who loved to fly. He was an aerobatic pilot as well as a commercial pilot for 33 years. He retired as a captain on the 747-400 for Northwest Airlines. He was a graduate of Auburn University and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Read More»
