GreekFest 2010 includes Greek dancing lessons

St. Christopher Hellenic Orthodox Church of Peachtree City will host its 6th Annual Building Fundraiser, GreekFest 2010, Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Seymour Hangar at Falcon Field in Peachtree City.

Greek dancing lessons will be offered along with live music and dancing. Appetizers will be served at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30. The “All you can eat and drink” menu includes many Greek delicacies including Dolmathes, Spanakopites, Greek salad, lemon chicken, and Baklava. Adult Beverages and soft drinks are included. Griefshare, a 13-week Christian video/discussion support group for those who have lost a loved one, will be offered at Holy Trinity Church in Peachtree City beginning Wednesday, evening, Sept. 8 and Friday morning, Sept. 10. Each GriefShare session is self-contained so one can begin attending at any time. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Haun of Arcade, N.Y. and Mrs. Lois Bernard, and the late Edward Bernard of Batavia, N.Y. She is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in professional aeronautic and two minors in aviation safety and management. Quick-Turner reunion set for Sept. 11

The 12th annual reunion of the descendants of Eli and Drucilla Turner Quick, originally of Inman, Fayette County, will get together Saturday, Sept. 11.
As usual, they will meet at New Salem Baptist Church in Griffin, beginning at 10 a.m.

You are encouraged to bring a covered dish and any family memorabilia to share.

The Quicks and Turners settled in Fayette, Spalding, Coweta and Pike counties.

She is survived by her daughters Susan Fitzgerald and her husband Al of Peachtree City; Sandra Stafford of Longwood FL ; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Annie Lou Preston of Summerfield NC ; nieces and nephews.
