Preparing a happy Thanksgiving

Robert H. Stone, 91, of Fayetteville

Robert H. Stone, 91, of Fayetteville, died November 30, 2010.

Mr. Stone was born to Judge and Artie Stone in Cullman County, AL on April 26, 1919. He married his love, Laurlene “Billie” Burgett, daughter of Z.D. and Vera Burgett, on December 27, 1938 and they were married for 72 years. He proudly served his country as a WWII vet, was a Mason for 54 years, as well as a member of Lisbon Baptist Church. In 1952 he moved his family to Fayetteville from Guntersville, AL. He retired from the Fayette County Board of Education as a mail carrier and a bus driver. Read More»

MRBC presents musical drama ‘The Birth’ Dec. 5

The McDonough Road Baptist Church celebration choir and orchestra will present “The Birth” next Sunday, Dec. 5, at 10:55 a.m. and 6 p.m. The musical/drama is built around the story of two brave young women who face tremendous obstacles on the way to the births of their first child. Arts and Crafts Fair set for Saturday

Members of St. Andrew’s ECW will host their annual Christmas Fine Art & Craft Fair this Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 316 Peachtree Parkway North, Peachtree City.

The event will include 24 juried vendors featuring jewelry, handmade cards, fine art, textiles, Christmas decor, wood sculpture and folk art, smocked children’s clothing, local honey, award winning jams, jellies and chocolate, natural soaps, fused glass, fashion accessories and more.

All proceeds benefit ECW programs and community outreach.

PTC’s All Saints Anglican will host ‘Home For the Holidays’

All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City will host a free Christmas music recital in its sanctuary on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The theme is “Home For The Holidays.”

The presentation will be organized and led by All Saints music director Shannon Bryan, who will play the piano and accompany guest soprano Chelsea Buyalos. LeeLee Hunter will also perform solo classical guitar. Read More»
