Wagner assumes pastorate of Grace Baptist

Members of Grace Baptist Church in Fayetteville welcome their new pastor, the Rev. Zach Wagner, a 2003 graduate of Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Mich.

After spending 11 years teaching in different Christian schools and being on the faculty of two different colleges, Wagner has accepted the pastorate of Grace Baptist Church.

Nigerian minister returns to Fayetteville

Action of Faith Ministries will once again host Pastor Friday Idawor from Lagos, Nigeria for two nights at the Harvest Christian Community Center (HCCC) in Fayetteville.

On Friday, May 27, at 7 p.m., there will be a special service for pastors and ministry leaders, only.

Then, on Saturday night, May 28, at 7 p.m., everyone is invited to attend.

The Harvest Christian Community Center is at 383 Fayette Place, Fayetteville.

Registration for CDM’s summer camp ends this Saturday

Southside kids have until this Saturday, May 28, to register for the summer camp to be hosted by Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM) in Fairburn May 31 through Aug. 5. Registration hours are 9 a.m. until noon Saturday.

CDM is collaborating with Patterson Sports Authority, FHS Business Consulting, Path To Wellness Foundation, DEC (Driver Empowerment Center), and the QYRx Group to sponsor the camp called CDM/PSA Summer Youth Camp 2011, to be held at Christ Discipleship Ministries, 114 W. Registration opens for Heritage’s WinShape C3 Day Camp

Registration is now open for Winshape C3 Camp, which will be hosted by Heritage Christian Church, July 11-15. The day camp is open to all students who have completed first through sixth grade. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. Cost is $179 for a full week of camp. A deposit of $50 is due upon registration.

Sharpsburg Baptist will offer ‘Backyard Bible Clubs’

Sharpsburg Baptist Church in Coweta County has announced a brand new youth program called “The Great Backyard Bible Clubs” scheduled for Fridays June 10, June 17, July 8 and July 15 held from 10 a.m. until noon at the A&O BridgesRecreation Center in downtown Sharpsburg.

All children from ages first grade through fifth grade are invited.

Included in this fun program are food, fun, fellowship, games, music, crafts, and Bible stories — all free of charge. All children in the area are invited.

Music camp starts July 11

Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will offer a summer music camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade July 11-15.

Children will learn about strings, wind instruments, singing, rhythm and more.Classes will meet every day from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost is $60 for the week.

Heritage plans VBS for last weekend in June

Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville is inviting kids to get cookin’ at its Shake It Up Café Vacation Bible School, Monday, June 27-Friday, July 1 from 8:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. VBS is open to kids who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.

E.J. and Brenda (Douglas) Carter of Fayetteville will celebrate their 50th anniversary next month.

They were married June 10, 1961 in Alcoa, Tenn., by the late Rev. W. H. Lodwick.

Their family includes children Scott (Melissa) Carter of Fayetteville, Tamara (Jimmy) Fischer of Senoia and Melinda (Rod) Owen of Brooks.

Mr. and Mrs. George Pratt of Fayetteville announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Aubry Lauren Pratt, to Jeremy Chandler Storm, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Storm of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Gordon College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is currently teaching first grade for the Clayton County Board of Education.
