Here comes Santa Claus to PTC's Kedron Elementary School

Anita Richardson Talley, 63, of Fayetteville

Anita Richardson Talley, 63, of Fayetteville passed away December 3, 2010 after living with multiple sclerosis for over 25 years. Anita often said, “I have M.S. It doesn’t have me.” She was the mentor of the multiple sclerosis support group for the south side of Atlanta for several years.

Anita was born on February 24, 1947 in Appomattox County, Virginia, daughter of Bernard Carson Richardson and Laura Inge Richardson. She was a graduate of Appomattox High School and James Madison College in Virginia. Anita worked for over 20 years in social services for the state of Georgia . Read More»

Drive aimed at helping local children in Fayette

To make it easier to help local children through the well-known Toys for Tots campaign, a local group of active and retired Marines has undertaken efforts here to make sure toys collected in Fayette County

A toy drop will be set up at the Walmart store in Peachtree City Saturday and Sunday, and there is a specific need for toys for boys or girls between 9 and 14 years old, organizers said.

The drive is being led by the Clyde Thomason Detachment of the Marine Corps League, which is working in conjunction with the Atlanta area Toys for Tots drive. Read More»

Robert H. Stone, 91, of Fayetteville

Robert H. Stone, 91, of Fayetteville, died November 30, 2010.

Mr. Stone was born to Judge and Artie Stone in Cullman County, AL on April 26, 1919. He married his love, Laurlene “Billie” Burgett, daughter of Z.D. and Vera Burgett, on December 27, 1938 and they were married for 72 years. He proudly served his country as a WWII vet, was a Mason for 54 years, as well as a member of Lisbon Baptist Church. In 1952 he moved his family to Fayetteville from Guntersville, AL. He retired from the Fayette County Board of Education as a mail carrier and a bus driver. Read More»
