Real Life Center gets a boost from A’meritage in Tyrone

A’meritage at Dogwood Restaurant is partnering with the Real Life Center to help feed the hungry in Fayette County. A’meritage will donate $1 from the sale of every adult Sunday brunch buffet to the Real Life Center

The promotion will continue through 2010.

St. Paul Lutheran will offer Dave Ramsey’s FPU beginning Feb. 7

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, will host the 13-week Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University course beginning Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. in the church cafeteria. The course is open to the community.

A preview will be given this Saturday, Jan. 30, at St. Paul, starting at 1 p.m.. A short video will feature Dave Ramsey and questions about the course can be asked.

Melvin Douglas Morrow, Newnan, died Jan. 12. 2010. He was born Sept. 13, 1949 in Junction City, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Morrow. He was graduated from the Coweta County school system. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War era. Emmer Lee "Mo" Benning, 91, Union City, formerly of Senoia, died Jan. 13, 2010. She was born June 7, 1918 in Oglethorpe County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Benning, her parents, Will and Lizzie Murray, and four children. She was an active member of the Greater Pine View Pure Holiness Church, Senoia. She served on the Mother Board and other auxiliaries. Hume and Tiger and the need for bread

So Brit Hume of Fox News created a firestorm of protest when he suggested on “Fox News Sunday” Jan. 3 that Tiger Woods should consider turning to Christianity and away from Buddhism. I missed it completely since I’m tied up on Sundays doing pastor stuff and don’t get to watch much Sunday TV.

I try to stay up on local news and on the big stuff, like college football developments and other life and death events. Like Lane Kiffin leaving Tennessee after only one season — what a shame! The SEC is much better off without him, and so is Tennessee. But back to Brit and Tiger. Read More»
