Sharpsburg Baptist will host barbecue, craft sales Sept. 24

Sharpsburg Baptist Church and the women’s service group, the Olive Branch, will host the annual Chicken Q and Fair scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, 6413 Ga. Hwy. 54 in Sharpsburg.

Space for selling arts and crafts and food items is available for $15.

In addition, chicken barbecue is available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a cost of $8 per plate, including 1/2 chicken, slaw, potato chips, bread and tea. Tickets are available by calling 770-251-6963 or walk-up.

Holly Grove AME’s revival starts tonight
Holly Grove African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold revival Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 31 - Sept. 2, at 7:15 p.m. nightly. Wednesday’s guest preacher will be the Rev. Ed Johnson from Flat Rock AME Church in Fayetteville. Thursday night’s message will be delivered by Elder Michael Phillips. The revival will conclude Friday with the Rev. James Miller. Together the Dolce Atlanta Peachtree Hotel & Resort, First Step Physical Therapy, the Atlanta Southern Crescent Alumnae Panhellenic Association (ASCAPA) and the Rotary Club of Peachtree City all sponsored the 4th annual Toga Trot 5K and 1-mile walk/run this past weekend. On Aug. 27, spectators watched as the runners, walkers, and rollers left The Dolce and then returned to cross the finish line. Concert competition seeks middle, high school musicians

Registration is now open for the Fayette Youth Protection Home’s first concert competition. The concert competition, a benefit for the Fayette Youth Protection Homes, will be the first of its kind in this area.

Local middle school and high school musicians will compete against each other in the categories of choral music, band music or orchestra music. The concert competition will take place on Thursday, October 13 at the New Hope Baptist Church’s South Campus location.  Read More»
