She is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business with a B.B.A. focusing in real estate. The bride is the daughter of Malia Brooks Isaac of Peachtree City and Keith Philip Isaac of Moreland.

On Friday, July 15, Courtney R., (Pete) and Page Fritts, residents of Fayette County for the past 24 years, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Flat Creek Club in Peachtree City. They were joined by a group of 146 relatives and guests from 13 different states. Emily Stastny was born in Augusta, vacationed in Germany, where she met her husband, Randy, lived in Auburn and then lived in Texas, where she obtained her degree in Interior Design. They moved to Fayetteville 11 years ago, had her own interior design business, lost a sister to cancer and realized what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She decided to work with the Cancer Society driving cancer patients to their appointments at no charge of any kind to them. Read More»

American Legion congratulates scholarship winner

Denny Leander, Commander of Fayette County Post 105, right, congratulates Heidi Turner on receiving a $1,000 scholarship from The American Legion.  Each year, six $1,000 scholarships are awarded to the children and grandchildren of Legionnaires from across Georgia upon their graduation from high school.  Heidi was a home schooled student and the granddaughter of the late Samuel Glenn Cassady, a Legionnaire in Post 105.  Cassady was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War and passed away on July 3, 2011.  Heidi will begin attending classes in the fall at Point University, formerly Atl Read More»

Nine Boy Scouts from Peachtree City Troop 279 in June tackled the grueling high adventure activity at Philmont Scout Ranch, a large, rugged, mountainous ranch located near the town of Cimarron, New Mexico, covering approximately 137,500 acres of wilderness in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Rocky Mountains of northern New Mexico.
