Hopewell will offer FPU

Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone will begin Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) class on Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m.

FPU is a 13-week program with the goal of “not just information, but transformation.”

More than one million families have attended FPU. On average, they pay off $5,300 in debt and save $2,700 in just 90 days.

The program is for everyone, regardless of age, regardless of income, and regardless of marital status. Read More»

‘Centering Prayer’ workshop set

Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites the community to a Centering Prayer Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The workshop will be led by Roberta Oster, coordinator for Contemplative Outreach of Atlanta, and costs $30. Register online at www.ptcumc.org or by calling the church at 770-487-6499. SFM readies for spring yard sale

Square Foot Ministries is now accepting items for its annual yard sale set for sometime this spring.

Items being accepted include furniture, books, jewelry, small appliances. knick knacks, toys, children’s shoes and clothing, linens, sporting equipment and household goods in good, saleable condition. Adult clothing and mattresses/box springs will not be accepted.

Lenten lunches will continue at First United Methodist Church each Thursday throughout Lent (Feb. 25, March 4, 11, 18 and 25) and will end with a lunch on April 1. Volunteer Work Day at Line Creek Nature Area

Join your friends and neighbors on Saturday, Feb. 27 to help improve the trails at Line Creek Nature Area, a popular nature preserve in Fayette County.

Southern Conservation Trust is hosting a Volunteer Work Day at Line Creek Nature Center in Peachtree City, off Highway 54 at the Coweta County line. The 70 acre Nature Preserve features a stocked fishing pond and dock, a picnic area, granite outcroppings, and several miles of both easy and challenging trails that allow access to Line Creek.

Volunteers will block eroded trails, clear new trails, and move fallen trees. Read More»
