Parenting seminar planned in PTC

Peachtree City United Methodist Church invites all families in the community to “IMPACT — Equipping Families to Grow and Go” Friday, March 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the PTCUMC Family Ministry Campus, 400 Windgate Road, in Peachtree City. The free event will be a time for families to come together in an informal setting for dessert, fellowship, worship and fun.

The featured guest speaker will be Sue Miller, an author and communicator who will speak on equipping parents with the skills they need to raise great kids. Read More»

Trip to Oberammergau planned

The community is invited to join National Heights Baptist Church on a trip to Austria and the Oberammergau Passion Play. The group will leave Atlanta on August 26.

There will be an informational meeting in the National Heights Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Monday, March 15, at 10:30 a.m. presented by Collette Vacations. Details of the trip to see this once in a decade performance will be given. Read More»

Gospel singing set for March 26, 27

Two free nights of “Old Fashioned Southern Gospel Singing” will be featured at the Old Train Depot in downtown Grantville Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27, beginning at 7 p.m.

Featured groups for Friday’s performance will be Kingdom Express, Mona Gayle Presly, Amazing Grace and One Accord, all from Columbus. Saturday’s performance will feature the Cleghorns from Warner Robins and the Hall Sisters from Soperton. Refreshments will be available. Read More»

The bride-to-be is a contract manager for Panasonic and a resident of Peachtree City.

The groom-elect is a field service planner for ADT and a resident of Acworth.

The couple will be married in April, 2010, at Dogwood Church in Tyrone.

Following their honeymoon the couple will reside in Peachtree City.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of The University of Georgia with a bachelor of science, majoring in exercise and sports science, and a graduate of Clemson University with a master’s in business administration. Erin Daye Moore and Brandon Mark Bangsboll were married at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan on Oct. 10, 2009. The bride’s pastor, the Rev. Justin Kollmeyer, conducted the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Moore of Brooks. She is the granddaughter of Lee Goddard of Lawrenceville and Jennie Mae Moore and the late Daye Moore of Old Fort, Tenn. She is a graduate of Fayette County High School with an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s from Georgia Institute of Technology. Yitta Schwartz, aged 93, died a couple weeks ago. She left 15 children, 200 grandchildren, and enough great-grandchildren to number over 2,000. She had actually given birth to 18 children, but two were killed in the Holocaust and one in an accident here in the US.

Mrs. Schwartz was of the ultra-orthodox Chasidic Jewish sect. One of the beliefs of the Jewish people is that your immortality lies with your heirs. Read More»
