Ruth Strozier Malone, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away August 21, 2011.

Mrs. Malone was employed by the Fayette County Board of Education as a bus driver and retired after 10 years.

Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin “Ben” F. Malone, Jr., her son,
Eli Floyd Malone and her parents Lucius W. Strozier and Mae Belle Langley Strozier.

Mr. Otto Steinbrenner of Peachtree City, GA, formerly of Ridgewood, NY, passed away on August 21, 2011 at the age of 88.

Mr. Steinbrenner was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army in WWII, serving in France, Belgium and Germany.

Harold Ottis Kelley, Jr., 75, of Fayetteville

Harold Ottis Kelley, Jr., of Fayetteville, GA, age 75, passed away on July 29, 2011, after an extended battle with cancer.

He grew up in Hapeville, GA, and graduated from Hapeville High School in 1954 and Young Harris College in 1956. Harold was a Mason and was employed with Southern Bell for 22 years. He was also a professional square dance caller for 30 years.

Civil Air Patrol seeking sponsor

The Peachtree City Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is in need of a sponsor.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has donated one of its trailers to the Squadron for use as a mission base.  Peachtree City’s Atlanta Regional Airport (Falcon Field) has provided the land necessary to set up the trailer.  The Squadron lacks only one item:  a long-term concrete trailer foundation.  The cost for laying the foundation is estimated from $4,000 to $5,000.  Because the Civil Air Patrol is a nonprofit organization, any sponsorship or donations will qualify for a 501(c)(3) tax exemption.  Read More»
