Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Werner, age 84, of Ohatchee

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church, 622 Chestnut St Gadsden, Alabama for Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Werner, age 84, of Ohatchee, who passed away Saturday April 23, 2011. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Roslindale, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Werner was a native of Boston, Massachusetts and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Gadsden, Alabama. She was retired from Delta Airlines and a member of the Delta Pioneer Club.

Caroline Dorothy Olenick, 68, of Fayetteville, died April 24, 2011.

Mrs. Olenick was preceded in death by her mother Theodosa Wisniewski.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years Charles; daughter Kelly (Paul) Honea of Loganville; son Ryan (Ashley) Olenick of Smyrna; grandchildren Bryce and Avery Honea; father Edmond Wisniewski of Garden City, MI; sisters Shirley (Michael) Ostroskie of Garden City, MI; Susan (Lee) March of Scottsdale, AZ; Connie (Bill) Dea of Queen Creek, AZ; brother Jim (Charlene) Wisniewski of Westland, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Wigs for Kids Cut-A-Thon in PTC next Sunday

Atlanta-based NV Hair Studio and Wigs for Kids have teamed up to organize a Cut-A-Thon to promote Wigs for Kids, a non-profit organization that assists children who have experienced hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alopecia and burns.

Wigs for Kids provides human hair wigs for children and assists them with their cosmetic and psychological needs.

The Cut-A-Thon will take place on Sunday, May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. at NV Hair Studio, 1301 Commerce Drive, Peachtree City. Read More»

Eight cadets of the Peachtree City Squadron of Civil Air Patrol attended the CAP Glider Academy at Rome, GA over the weekend of April 2-3.  Receiving glider flights were cadets Daniel Schulz, Nathan Bernth, Cole Davis from Peachtree City; Cadets Michael Alexander and Jairus Swint of Fayetteville; cadets Reid Geddie and Parker McKeehan from Newnan; and Cadet Garrett Peters of Senoia.  Glider pilot instructors from the Peachtree City Squadron passing on their love of flying to the next generation were Lt.
