Olivia Rachelle Pinyan engaged to Keegan William Hanie

Olivia Rachelle Pinyan of Fayetteville and Keegan William Hanie have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rachelle Pinyan of Fayetteville and Glenn Pinyan of McDonough, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bannister of Fayetteville. She is a 2007 graduate of Whitewater High School and a 2011 graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor’s degree in special education adapted curriculum. Jennifer Paige Puckett and Martin Patrick Gareau were married Saturday, May 28, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Fairburn. Pastor Timothy Gareau, uncle of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Cindy Farr of Newnan and Rick Puckett of Douglasville. She is a pharmacist with Publix in Atlanta.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Patrick Gareau Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio. He is the director for global operations with Casemate, also in Atlanta.

Peachtree City mom and son Pedal for Pets

Wendy Maguire is passionate about animals. Her own dogs and cats are well loved. But animals that are chained up, neglected, abused and homeless break her heart. “I wish I could adopt them all,” said Wendy.

Instead, she’s making a difference by raising funds in a ride for The Georgia Heartland Humane Society Free Spay/Neuter Clinic.   She refers to the two women, Jane Reed and Jill Whiskers who started this crusade three months ago as “bonafide heroes.” Read More»

Louise Virginia Melson McAfee, age 90, of Carrollton, GA, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Newnan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Newnan, GA.

She was born May 30, 1921 in Coweta County, GA to the late Appleton Melson & Lizzie Moore Melson.

Friends of PTC Library donate books to Piedmont Fayette Cancer Wellness Center

Paul Lentz (center), representing the Friends of the Peachtree City Library, donates books to the Rene Christensen Library at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. The library is part of the Cancer Wellness Center at the hospital. The donated books are adult books; young adult and children books will also be donated in the future. Piedmont Fayette Hospital Volunteer Nancy Jurchenko (R), formerly employed at the Peachtree City Library, organized and maintains the hospital library. Tyrone Centennial committee needs more family information

Linda Howard, Tyrone Centennial Committee Chair, has sent word that they are still trying to get out information on the need for family information.

You don’t have to have family going back to the 1800’s, even if you just moved here in 2011, the committee wants to include your family in the Tyrone Centennial Book. Please get your family information in by Aug. 20 in time for the book to be out in time for Christmas giving.
