Mrs. Martha Campbell, 69, of Morrow, died April 30, 2010.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sonya Wilkes of Fayetteville and Beverly Goodson of Stockbridge; grandchildren Austin (Ashley) Wilkes, Samantha Wilkes and Matthew Goodson; stepfather George Johnson of Gray, GA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 3, 2010 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Alan Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday prior to the service from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Read More»

Mrs. Linda Jane Harrison, of Peachtree City, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on April 29, 2010 at the age of 72.

Linda’s life revolved around her faith, her family, her friends and she walked with God daily. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Altar Circle, The Circle of Friends and as a member of the Eucharistic Adoration. Lynn Clark visited the Coweta Fayette Rotary Club and introduced four GRSP Students. Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. I know what your Pastor did last year. Do you?

A friend of mine told me a story about his father who was an Army Chaplain during World War II. The chaplain said that he was teased with the standard tease of clergy that he sure had an easy job because he only worked one day a week. But the chaplain had a standard answer that kept humor in the conversation and deflected the barb. He’d say, “Well, I put in for pay clerk, but that job was already taken,” referencing that pay checks came out only one day a month, so the pay clerk must have an even better job. Read More»
