All Saints announces Christmas events

All Saints Anglican Church will present Advent Lessons and Carols at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18. On Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, there will be a 5 p.m. Family Service (nursery provided), a 10:30 p.m. service featuring “The Story Behind the Carols” and an 11 p.m. “Midnight” Candlelight Mass

On Dec. 25, there will be a 10:30 a.m. Holy Communion service.

All Saints meets at 225 South Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.

Several Christmas services planned at PTCUMC

Peachtree City United Methodist Church will host Christmas Eve services at 5, 7 and 9 p.m.

The 5 p.m. service will be a family worship service led by the Family Ministry team with a festive atmosphere. This is a child friendly service and will include the lighting of the candles. There will be childcare available for babies through PreK.

COS will hold Advent service tonight
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer its final mid-week Advent service  Dec. 14, from 7-7:30 p.m. “Taking the Story of Christmas Home” is the theme. According to associate pastor Miriam Beecher, “The worship service will have a multi-sensory creative touch.” Some of the traditions and practices to be explored are Christmas trees, wreaths, cards, lights and candy canes. The Shepherd’s Band and Logos Ringers will provide music. Christ Our Shepherd is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

Flat Creek Baptist will host Sunday School training event

Flat Creek Baptist Church will host a Sunday School Training Event, “Light Unto My Path,” based on Psalms 119:105, Friday, Jan. 27, at the church.

Supper will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the training event from 7-10 p.m.

The cost is $5 each for Fairburn Association members and $15 each for non-Fairburn Association members.

There will be classes for leaders of all age groups (from preschool through adult) as well as pastors, Sunday School directors and more, led by acclaimed leaders from all over the state. Read More»

Ron Clower, author of “Jesus Christ: Centerpiece of God’s Universe,” wrote his book after years of leading studies on the Bible. Tresca Smith and Paul Rivers were married Nov. 5, 2011, in an outdoor wedding at their home off Sandy Creek Road in Fayette County. A reception, held in the barn, followed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Sandra Smith of Fayetteville and the late Hoke Smith Jr. The groom is the son of Barbara Rivers, also of Fayetteville, and the late Charles Rivers.

On Saturday Dec. 10, 2011, 25-year-old Seth Warren Yetter died unexpectedly in his home in Greenwich Village, New York.

Seth led a life that was nothing short of fulfilling as he accomplished many respectable achievements.

Mary Parker Callahan of LaGrange, previously of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday night at Hospice LaGrange.

She is predeceased by her husband, William Thomas "Tom" Callahan.

Danny Elbert Babb, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, went to heaven on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the age 70.

An Atlanta native, Danny attended Brown High School, graduating in 1959. While serving in the United States Air Force he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Jean Maddox Babb.
