Michele Catherine Ramsey engaged to Peter Anthony Walton

Michele Catherine Ramsey of Peachtree City and Peter Anthony Walton of Fayetteville have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Gary Ramsey of Peachtree City and the late Martha Ramsey. She is finishing her degree in elementary and special education at Kennesaw State University.

The groom-elect is the son of Pete and Sherri Walton of Fayetteville. He is a first officer for Atlantic Southeast Airlines.

The couple will marry in Salt Lake City, Utah, in August, 2011, and will reside in Georgia.

Chad Long, Locust Grove, spoke to the members of the Clyde Thomason Detachment #1325 of the Marine Corps League during their July meeting. Long is the Department of Georgia Jr Vice Commandant and the District 3 Vice Commandant. Learning about other cultures’ crafts at Senoia Library

It was a chance to get involved with other cultures. Area kids tried their hand at “World Craft India” at the Senoia Library on July 13. The program is one of a number of events, such as Story Time and Family Night, that are a part of the library’s Summer Reading Program. World Craft is held on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and highlights a different country each week. Story Time is held each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Photo/Ben Nelms.

The Civil Air Patrol is the Air Force’s volunteer civilian auxiliary corps which provides invaluable support in a variety of missions and educational programs in the community. Read More»

Joyce Disharoon Reich, 76, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 15, 2011.

Mrs. Reich proudly served her country as a member of the U.S. Navy.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. Disharoon.

She is survived by Roger Clayton; nieces, Cindy Rampley and her husband Lanny, and Kathy Murphy; nephew, Mike Disharoon and his wife, Cindy; several other nieces & nephews; good friend Karen Gifford.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Black of Winchester, VA; a daughter, Cheri Poe of Peachtree City; a son, Aarron Poe of New Caney, TX; and his stepson, Keegan Brannon of Waleska; a niece, Amber Keehr of Winchester, VA; a nephew, John Black of Durham, NC and many extended family members.
