Mr. Thomas K. Hamall of Peachtree City died Thursday April 29, 2010.

Mr. Hamall was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Hamall of Peachtree City; children, Mary Morales and her husband Romulo of Peachtree City; Eileen Marie Desai and her husband Mahesh of Atlanta; Annette Marie Freeman of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Rosemary Ann Martinez and her husband Santos of Cordova TN; Claire Marie Moyer and her husband Richard of Taveres, FL; Kenneth Michael Hamall and his wife Rhonda of Cincinnati, Ohio; 13 grandchildren. Mrs. Linda Jane Harrison, 72, formerly of Fayetteville

Mrs. Linda Jane Harrison, of Peachtree City, formerly of Fayetteville, passed away on April 29, 2010 at the age of 72.

Linda’s life revolved around her faith, her family, her friends and she walked with God daily. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Altar Circle, The Circle of Friends and as a member of the Eucharistic Adoration. Medford Allen Branch, 83, of Fayetteville

Medford Allen Branch, 83, of Fayetteville, died April 28, 2010.

He served his country in WWII in the US Marine Corps. Mr. Branch owned his own flight school, Aim Aviation, and was also the owner of Business Locksmith Services.

He is survived by his wife Dottie; son Max and his wife Debbie Branch; daughter Augusta and her husband Ed Davis; step-daughter Angie and her husband Rob Napier; grandchildren Sean and Joshua Branch, Aaron and Elizabeth Davis and Kennedy Napier; great-grandchildren; a brother and sisters; and nieces and nephews. Coweta Fayette Rotary welcomes GRSP students

A friend of mine told me a story about his father who was an Army Chaplain during World War II. The chaplain said that he was teased with the standard tease of clergy that he sure had an easy job because he only worked one day a week. But the chaplain had a standard answer that kept humor in the conversation and deflected the barb. He’d say, “Well, I put in for pay clerk, but that job was already taken,” referencing that pay checks came out only one day a month, so the pay clerk must have an even better job. Read More»

New Vision’s ‘Risen Fest’ rock music festival will fund Haitian relief efforts

The second annual Christian music festival “Risen Fest,” a free admission event sponsored by Fayetteville’s New Vision Church, will take place on May 8, at 7 p.m. at The Villages Amphitheater in Fayetteville.

Bringing more than 1,000 people in 2009, Risen Fest launched its explosive first annual kick-off as a community outreach event to celebrate the church’s five year anniversary. ‘Freedom’ and ‘fun’ headline coming events at COS

“Moses and the Freedom Fanatics” is the spring musical to be presented at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 2, at 6 p.m., by Shepherd’s Flock Singers. These young musicians are in Grades 2-5, and they will also play handbells and choir chimes. Cherub Choir will sing and play the church’s Brody bells.

OM plans ‘Creative Arts Evening of Worship’ April 30

Dancelink and OM Arts International, ministries of Operation Mobilization (OM), will host a Creative Arts Evening of Worship Friday, April 30. The concert will be at Peachtree City Christian Church and begins at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free; however, an offering will be received to benefit Dancelink’s ongoing mission work.

FFBC, PTCUMC both will offer Griefshare in May

Fayetteville First Baptist Church and Peachtree City United Methodist will both begin a new session of GriefShare, a 13-week Bible based program for those who have lost a loved one.

The class at FFBC starts May 4 and meets each Tuesday from 6:30-8 p.m. Each class begins with a video followed by group discussion. There is no charge for the class.

The program is open to people of all ages in the community and surrounding areas, whether the loss is recent or in the past. Read More»
