Prince of Peace plans yard sale Saturday
Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fayetteville is hosting a yard sale, this Saturday, May 15, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. All proceeds benefit the summer youth and college mission trips to Munster, Ind., to help with flood relief and to Eustis, Fla. to help with hurricane, tornado, and flooding damage that is still present for previous storms. The sale will be held at the church, 257 Highway 314, Fayetteville.

Sherstad Birth Announcement

Brandon and Christina (Sewall) Sherstad of Fayetteville announce the birth of their daughter, Harmony Grace Sherstad, at 12:56 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2009, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Harmony weighed 6 lbs, 15 oz. and was 19 3/4 inches long. Grandparents are Doug and Maryellen Austin of Griffin, Roger and Marina Sewall of Fleetville, Pa., and Larry and Barbara Sherstad of Jacksonville, Fla. Great-grandmother is Janet McKenzie of Peachtree City. Harmony was welcomed home by her sister, Autumn.

YP Fayette and Chamber team raise over $4,100 for Relay for Life

YP Fayette and Chamber team raise over $4,100 for Relay for Life

The Young Professionals of Fayette County (YP Fayette) and the Fayette Chamber formed a team at the 2010 Relay for Life, which benefits The American Cancer Society. The team raised $4,139 with online donations and through fundraisers at the event. Their site was transformed into the “Powder Puff Parlor,” with two massage therapists, a professional makeup artist, and a Beauty Control consultant doing hand treatments. Read More»

Mrs. Ruth Virginia Keck, of East Point , passed away on May 7, 2010 at the age of 82.
