No. Fayette UMC plans 5K run/walk, barbecue, craft fair Sept. 24

Registration is taking place for North Fayette United Methodist Church’s Fifth Annual “Find Your Way” 5K Run/Walk, set for Saturday Sept. 24, at 8 a.m., at 847 New Hope Road, Fayetteville. A Craft/Flea Market and barbecue will be held after the 5K Run.

Early registration for the event is $20 through Sept. 12. After that the cost is $25 up to race day. The race will begin and end at the church.

The event is open to runners and walkers of all age groups.

This is an officially timed event, and will be held rain or shine. Runners start at 8:30 a.m. and walkers begin at 8:35 am. Read More»

Palmetto State Quartet will perform at Line Creek Sept. 9

The smooth, rich sounds of southern gospel music will ring loudly in the Sharpsburg area when The Palmetto State Quartet performs at the Line Creek Baptist Church in Sharpsburg on Friday, Sept. 9, beginning at 7 p.m..

Summit again offers free tutoring
The Family Resource Center at The Summit Presbyterian Church will once again offer free tutoring for elementary and high school students beginning Aug. 24. Classes meet on Wednesdays, one from 4-5 p.m. and another from 5-6 p.m. Help is offered in math, reading, homework, science, and language arts. Tutors are supervised by certified teachers.
