All Saints Church members Sam Stachura and his daughter, Lily Ann, display some of the items to be featured at the All Saints Anglican Church Garage Sale this Saturday, May 10, in the Peachtree City Colonnade subdivision at 233 Columns Lane, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. At 11:30, all items will be sold at half price. Items include electronics, furniture, plants, jewelry, kids toys, and kitchen items. There also is a free section. Call the church office to contribute, 770-486-5374.

Hopewell UMC congregation bids farewell to Candler intern

On Sunday, April 27, Hopewell United Methodist Church bid farewell to Cassie Light, a Candler School of Theology student who has spent the past nine months in an internship at Hopewell. Light will now head for graduation and ordination as a minister in the Lutheran church.

While at Hopewell, Light was given the opportunity to preach several sermons, led a bi-monthly Bible study, and performed a variety of jobs to familiarize herself with church work.

She endeared herself to the congregation and they presented her with a beautiful white ministerial robe to wear in her new profession. Read More»

PTC Presbyterian announces Jungle Safari VBS for 2014

Registration is now open for the summer 2014 Vacation Bible School at First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City. VBS will take place June 16-20. The theme this year is “A Jungle Safari.”

Registration is open through Friday, May 16. Registration forms are available at the church welcome center, 206 Willow Bend Road in Peachtree City. The registration fee is $5 per child, payable on the first day. Call 770-487-7757 for additional information.

St. Andrew's plans Crawfish Boil

St. Andrew's in the Pines Episcopal Church will offer the community a taste of Louisiana with its first annual Crawfish Boil on Saturday, May 17, from 5-8 p.m. Meals are just $20 each and include three pounds of crawfish, with corn, potatoes and jambalaya, a beverage and dessert. Child's plates are $10 and include a hotdog, sides, beverage and dessert (kids are welcome to try the crawfish and jambalaya). Meal tickets must be purchased by May 12. Terry Lee Christiansen, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away May 2, 2014.

Mr. Christiansen worked for 45 years at Georgia Pacific Corporation.
