New pastor installed

St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Peachtree City recently celebrated the installation of its new pastor, Paul Stark. Born and raised in California, Stark comes to Peachtree City from Missouri, where he served several small rural churches, taught daily Bible studies online on E-DIBS, and began Pillar Ministries to minister to church workers. COS plans youth-led services; tailgate party for musicians

Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City will welcome “Confirmed” to the Saturday evening worship service, July 26 at 7 p.m. This contemporary youth band is from Trinity Lutheran Church, Vale, N.C.

At the Saturday service, as well as Sunday services at 8:30, 9:45, and 11 a.m., Christ Our Shepherd high school youth will provide the sermon, drawing from their week-long mission trip to Nashville, Tenn. Read More»

True Love Christian Ministries plans men’s revival

True Love Christian Ministries (TLCM) will hold its Golden Moments Men’s Revival Monday through Wednesday, July 28-30, at 7:15 p.m. each night.

The host pastor is Elder Nathaniel Livingston.

Monday night’s revivalist will be the Rev. Lamorris Stanford of In His Image Christian Ministries in Stockbridge.

Elder Daniel Smart of Edgefield Baptist Church in Fayetteville will preach on Tuesday.

Holly Grove will have F&F Day Saturday
Holly Grove African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church will hold its Family and Friends Day at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 26.  The host pastor is the Rev. Larry Ervin.  Holly Grove is a leadership church in the locally based Fellowship of Christian Churches and Friends (FCCF). Holly Grove is located in Peachtree City at 400 Holly Grove Church Road, just off the south end of Robinson Road.

Carriage Lane’s annual yard sale benefits Ugandan orphans

Members of Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City are gearing up for their annual Ranch on Jesus yard sale planned for Friday, Aug. 8, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The annual yard sale plays a large part in covering the educational costs of Ugandan children at Ranch on Jesus orphanage.

Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off in the Fellowship Hall the week of the sale from Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Read More»

Nativity to offer new service Aug. 3

Beginning Sunday, Aug. 3, The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will begin offering a Sunday evening service at 5:30 p.m. each week. The new service is designed to appeal to those who are looking for a church home or are wishing to supplement their church experience.

The service will include a short service followed by a concert at the gazebo in the garden with David Ellis.

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity is at 130 Antioch Rd . (off of Highway 92) Fayetteville.

Bloom helps out troubled kids

The world can be a pretty tough place, and home is supposed to be the place that is safe from harm’s way. But that is not always the case, including for children. Addressing a variety of foster care and other needs is Fayette County’s nonprofit Bloom Our Youth, an organization which provides placement in the Friday-Johnson children’s home, operates the Bloom Closet in Fayetteville and works with foster parents. Vance Frederick Lusk, Jr., 63, of Fayetteville, passed away July 17, 2014.

Mr. Lusk was a retired middle school teacher with Henry County Schools System. He spent 30 years teaching middle school at Stockbridge Middle School and Dutchtown Middle School. He was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, Fayetteville and was very passionate about theology. He was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed.
